I released this cover of "Aquatic Ambiance" on November 21st, 2019 to mark the 25th anniversary of the release of Donkey Kong Country on the Super Nintendo in '94. The original version was composed by David Wise for the underwater levels of game.

I used a combination of synth sounds, live instruments and custom-made sound effects to create the aquatic soundscape. Features the violin, erhu, (the Chinese violin) and guzheng, (a Chinese instrument similar to a harp).

Nominated as a finalist in the 2020 Game Audio Network Guild Awards for the remix category.

 A Holiday like This

Now it’s London in the season

Tiny Tim’s time of year

Don’t you know that Sydney in the summer

is just a bummer for gifts and good cheer

Up north is such a wonderland

The trees are glistening in the snow

Down here there’s plenty of sunshine

But it just doesn’t feel like home

No matter what side of the world that I’m on

It’s not the same yuletide bliss

I must come home for a holiday like this

Hear the carolers proclaiming

Tis’ the season for joy

And the stockings are all hung in a row

Wrappin’ gifts for every girl and boy

Every home is decorated

I miss the sparkling lights

Momma’s pumpkin pie aroma from the kitchen

Has got me wishingI was there tonight

Hey! No matter what side of the world that I’m on

It’s not the same yuletide bliss

I’ve gotta come home for a holiday like this

Pack my suitcase, I’ve had it

I’ll call a cab and go grab my jacket

Catch the next red eye back home tonight

It don’t matter what side of the world that I’m on

It’s not the same yuletide bliss

We’ve gotta make it home for a holiday like this, oh

Oh the holidays back at home, are just

Something that I don’t wanna miss.

The Man Who Don’t Belong

When it’s their winter it’s his summer

And he travels away

He marches to the beat of a different drummer

And he seems to live his life astray

He tries to talk to ladies

But he doesn’t have the charm

When he thinks a woman fancies him

It’s usually a false alarm

He looks for the words to say but somehow

His words always come out wrong

That’s why he’s just the man who don’t belong

He starts a conversation

And he stirs up the crowd

But they aren’t laughing with him

So he just tries to tune them out

The world keeps moving forward

But he tries to turn back

He can’t adjust to society

But somehow he keeps his head intact, hey

He looks for the words to say but somehow

His words always come out wrong

That’s why he’s just the man who don’t belong

He falls down, and gets up

He fails but will not give up

At least he’s closer, than he was before

Oh, he looks for the words to say but somehow

His words always come out wrong

That’s why he’s just the man who don’t belong

That’s why he’s just the man who don’t belong
